Practice Policies
It is important when beginning a relationship to start out with clear expectations and boundaries so that we can work together to help your animal.
- I am not an emergency veterinarian. Please retain a veterinary clinic for acute medical needs and emergency medical needs.
- If you are concerned and unable to reach me, please go to your local veterinary clinic. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Consultations: How do they work?
- Schedule the consultation with the scheduling link under the description of the service.
- If you cannot find a time that works, text me @ 305-987-8684, for possibilities. Sometimes I have cancellations and holes in my schedule.
- Please fill out the questionnaires that appear when you schedule:
- Client information
- Pet’s Medical History
- 5 Element Constitution
- Telehealth Consent Form - signed.
- Practice guidelines - signed.
- Please have all medical records emailed to consultwithdrjosie@gmail.com. The more information I have available the more complete the consultation will be.
- You will receive a ZOOM link at the email you provide in the registration materials, usually the day of the consultation.
- If you prefer PHONE please let me know in registration or via text 305-987-8684 or email.
- You will receive a summary of all my recommendations and a video of the ZOOM call along with links to products.
- My affiliate links for many of the products I recommend are on my webpage. I appreciate you using them when you order online. It does not cost you anything extra but it supports me and helps keep my fees lower.
- For items I drop ship to you, you can reorder them via text message, 305-987-8684.
Levels of Support and Availability
In order to provide adequate support to clients dealing with complex cases with their pets, I offer a variety of levels of support, depending upon your needs. The goal is to get your pet healthy and stable so less professional support is required over time.
I also want to be clear on how and when you can reach me.
- My office hours are MON - THUR 9 am - 7 pm EST, FRI 9 am - 12 pm EST, excluding holidays.
- I include a limited amount of text messages in my consultation fees for the first week after the consultation to clarify treatment plans and provide updates.
- If questions or new issues arise, and more time is needed to address them, as per my discretion, we can schedule a progress phone/zoom consultation for an additional fee. The link can be found on my website or text me to schedule:

- If regular checks-ins are required you can subscribe to one of the coaching subscription plans or pay for individual text/email consults.
- All of the options for additional support can be found on the website.
- Coaching and messaging about the case will be done via VOXER where texts, voice messages, pics and videos can be shared and stored. Once a card is on file, you will be given my VOXER information.
- For all subscription plans, a credit card will be kept on file and will be charged the1st of the month, unless cancellation of service is requested. Amount of time or number of consultations are NOT rolled over from one month to the next. They must be used within the month they are purchased, the only exception being rare unresolvable schedule conflicts.
- Requests to order medications or herbs are NOT considered consults and can be texted to 305-987-8684.
